Back when I was in school for game design, we began to learn a wonderful program called Maya (for 3D modeling, rendering, animating, etc.). One of the earlier projects was to design an item used on a ship (specifically an old navy barge), so I went with a traditional spyglass; this being the the final result! I really enjoyed making this one, even though it was a simple model, because of the various ways I was able to use materials and textures.
